KLA believes reconciliation is an important part of our daily programming and not just celebrated on significant weeks of the year. Our vision for reconciliation is an Australia that embraces unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians, a national culture that represents equality and equity, historical acceptance of our shared history and removal of negative race relations. Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Reconciliation is about taking part in acknowledging and accepting and recongising that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures exist. Reconciliation to KLA is about strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples, for the benefit of all Australians. Reconciliation is about recognising all different cultures that make up our diverse country, including the diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. Reconciliation is about working together with all educators, children, families and the broader community to understand and educate ourselves Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and cultures. Reconciliation in KLA is an ongoing process that requires commitment, empathy and respect. We want to create a safe and inclusive environment where children can learn about and celebrate the rich diversity of First Nations cultures and acknowledge the true histories of Australia. .
