Our vision for reconciliation at ECTARC The Basin Education and Care Service is a society that values and acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as Australia’s First Peoples. A community that acknowledges and understands the true histories of Australia, the wrongs of the past and the impact of these wrongs. We respect First Nations peoples for their resilience and aim to walk together as we overcome adversity. We aim to build genuine and respectful relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as we support all children to thrive. 

At ECTARC The Basin, we value and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, perspectives and heritages, as a proud part of a shared national identity, and we respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' right to self-determination. 

At ECTARC The Basin, we are committed to educating children, families and ourselves about racism, inequity and injustice. We continue to develop our knowledges of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and how we respectfully share these learnings with children, families and the community.  

We continue to improve the cultural safety of our service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families and the community.
