Our vision is a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are actively recognised and celebrated as being the First Nations People of Australia, a world where the unique rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are respected and actively upheld, and all children have a sense of belonging and self-determination in their lives. Our education and care service is committed to giving our children and families the opportunity to respectfully engage with, learn about and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
At Shining Stars Early Learning Centre we recognise the importance of early childhood education and that it is the pathway to a reconciled nation. We understand the importance that all children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, have a right to feel a sense of belonging and have their cultural identities supported and embraced within the service, creating learning environments that acknowledges their diverse histories and traditions to form a safe haven for all children and their families at our service. We acknowledge the rights of the child, and we respect children's voices, cultural identities and right to be treated fairly with no discrimination.
