At Balcombe Heights Child Care Centre we believe in inclusive practices for all people into our centre and our community. We are committed to imbedding the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) into our Early Childhood Centre. We believe that all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are integral to the local community and we value their contributions and the contributions of the Traditional Custodians of the Land where Balcombe Heights Child Care Centre stands. We are committed to deepening our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ ’ cultures, perspectives and traditions and respectfully including this as part of our curriculum and learning program. Reconciliation is about recognising the true history of Australia and acting in the present to move towards a future of respect between First Nations peoples and the wider community. We believe in raising our awareness and understanding of fairness and justice within our community. We are committed to building trusting reciprocal relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We want to build a partnership where we can work together providing quality education for children and a better future for all Australians. Our RAP is an ongoing document and a process of learning and developing that our RAP Working Group will continue to achieve and implement.
