At Rhondas Cottage, our vision for reconciliation is to foster meaningful and lasting relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities. We are committed to continually learning, unlearning and relearning about First Nations peoples, cultures, histories, and knowledges, providing us with the understanding about how to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives into our relationships, programs, practices and learning environments. Through relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, we will continue to learn about the continuous connection between Traditional Custodians and the Land, waterways, skies, and living beings.
We will continue to nurture and maintain understanding, respect, and trust between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous communities, guided by shared values and a spirit of collaboration and reconciliation.
Our vision is for everyone across the learning community at Rhondas Cottage to have opportunities to develop an understanding of the diversity and richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and contributions. In doing so, we will continue to work alongside educators, families and children to recognise the true histories of this place to ensure cultural responsiveness and reconciliation become a natural part of our everyday lives.
