VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for Reconciliation is that all Australians actively engage with and acknowledge the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples true histories. We are committed to recognising the true histories of the past and present, and continuing strengths of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures, fostering respect and understanding across our wider community. We acknowledge the true histories of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and that they are the Traditional Custodians of the Land and it is every child's right to learn about the Land                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 they play and learn on.. We believe that children who are respected and know their rights can be empowered to advocate for others rights. We acknowledge that racism has no place in our service and community and commit to providing tools and resources to take action against racism.  We strive to ensure that we continue as an early childhood service to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures, histories and perspectives in all that we do. We are committed to forming meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within the local community, breaking down barriers to move forward together. As early childhood educators, we understand that we play a role in childrens learning, so we commit to progressing reconciliation with young children, playing on Country, and respecting First Nations Peoples. This will be achieved through building positive relationships, demonstrating respect and creating opportunities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider community in which we learn and play. We are committed to learning, growing, and contributing to a reconciled Australia.
