Dianella Education Precinct acknowledges and pays our respects to the culture and continuing connections of the Noongar people to this Whadjuk Boodjar (Land). We seek to respectfully include the histories, perspectives and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our school community and actively promote reconciliation across the precinct.
Dianella Education Precinct’s vision for reconciliation and commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is to continue to:
•Create a culturally safe place of learning where everyone can respectfully learn about the value and complexity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.
•Inform and educate current and future generations about reconciliation, and about the place and significance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.
•Recognise the part we all play in the journey towards reconciliation and actively take steps to promote reconciliation in the community.
•Engage, form and deepen relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
•Nurture and strengthen an active appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures within our educational precinct, to send children into the world who will influence and advocate for true reconciliation.
•Actively acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of being, knowing and doing.
We aspire to walk our journey in partnership with our community in order to raise awareness about, and drive action towards, reconciliation.
