At Craigmore South Primary School, we envision a future where reconciliation plays a vital role within our schooling environment. Our core values as a school are Respect, Collaboration, Integrity, Diversity and Responsibility, which will be reflective in our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), will serve as a compass, guiding us on a transformative journey toward respect, understanding, and meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Our motto of “learners today, leaders tomorrow” supports our belief that the students of today will be our future leaders, and we will support all students to learn about the true history of Australia and the oldest living cultures in the world. We will support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students by fostering equitable and equitable opportunities to succeed and create pathways for their futures.
Our RAP seeks to empower students, educators, and the wider school community to develop a strong sense of cultural responsiveness and empathy. We aim to respectfully include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives across our curriculum, ensuring that all students gain a holistic understanding of Australia's diverse First Nations heritages. By doing so, we hope to nurture respectful relationships, challenge stereotypes, and promote reconciliation as a shared responsibility of non-Indigenous people. Our RAP represents a living document, evolving with the needs and aspirations of our school community.
We strive for an inclusive and culturally rich learning environment, where all students, staff, families, and community members feel valued and connected. Our vision is to foster a deep appreciation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and contributions. Through the RAP, we commit to actively acknowledging and honouring the Traditional Custodians of the Kaurna people's Land on which we learn and play.
