VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is to continue building and maintaining respectful and reciprocal relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our school and wider community.

We work to create a culturally safe, inclusive, respectful and empowering environment where:

•culturally responsive teachers respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives into our school •the histories and cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are actively engaged with •students develop an understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples from vibrant learning experiences with the curriculum, real world experiences and the community •we increase respect, reduce prejudice and strengthen unity within our community.

Our vision for reconciliation is to strive for equity and equality for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and we will do this by ingraining recognition, respect and learning into our daily practices. Our Reconciliation Action Plan will shape our staff and students to become life-long leaders in reconciliation, committed to effecting positive social change in our country. We want our plan to reflect the spirit of reconciliation and healing through both words and actions.
