We acknowledge, respect, and celebrate the cultures, heritages, and continuing contributions of First Nation Peoples. Our vision for reconciliation is founded on walking in solidarity with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members and recognising the need for reconciliation in education and all levels of society.
Reconciliation at St William’s is about the proper recognition of First Nation Peoples and their contributions to Australian society both in the past and in the present through education and celebrating the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. It involves truth-telling and building mutually respectful relationships between First Nation Peoples and all other Australians through open communication.
St William’s School proudly supports the Catholic traditions based on the spirit of our founders, the Sisters of the Good Samaritan as we live the Benedictine values each day by accepting responsibility for our reconciliation journey, building respectful relationships with First Nations community members within and beyond our school community, and providing equal and equitable educational and wellbeing outcomes and opportunities for all.
