VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Terrace, reconciliation is not a task to complete, but a relationship to nurture between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people. Guided by our Catholic faith and the Edmund Rice Touchstones, we are committed to walking with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through curiosity, humility, truth-telling and  accountability.  We move beyond symbolic inclusion towards genuine co-creation, so that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples histories, perspectives and cultures are understood as integral to the College community. We believe reconciliation begins with listening - to the Traditional Custodians of Country, to story and to one another - and grows through respectful relationships, courageous dialogue and ongoing reflection. Our vision for reconciliation is to foster a Terrace Family where respect, belonging and hope are lived each day as we walk together.  May our College remain a place of listening, truth-telling and hope as we walk together towards mutual understanding and shared purpose. Guided by the Edmund Rice Touchstones - Liberating Education, Gospel Spirituality, Inclusive Community, and Justice and Solidarity - we commit to living this acknowledgement in our daily words and actions.
