At Yuille Park Community College and Kindergarten, reconciliation starts with us. We believe that reconciliation can only be achieved when the past injustices against Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and their ongoing impacts are acknowledged and understood.
We provide a warm and welcoming kindergarten service and school, where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples feel culturally safe and included. A place where we are guided by equitable and respectful partnerships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people. We commit to continuing to respectfully engage with local community member and Elders. We will ensure that our teaching practices and methods are appropriate and respectful. At Yuille Park Community College and Kindergarten, we are committed to ongoing professional development about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures, so as to enrich our knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to improve our ability to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories into our curriculum and celebration of cultural events.
