The John Hunter Hospital School's vision for reconciliation is to continue to provide staff and students with authentic cultural knowledge and understanding of the rich histories, perspectives, ways of being and contributions of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We continue to embed this in daily teaching and learning practices for students as well as staff meetings and professional learning.
By learning about the values and perspectives of First Nations Peoples, we have been building relationships based on respect and kindness. We are committed to strengthening these relationships and celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders peoples' contributions in shaping a shared sense of national unity and identity.
We are proud of the school culture that we have nurtured, one which continues to flourish as we share this reconciliation journey with the wider hospital community teaching Australia’s true history and ensuring an educationally authentic and inclusive workplace to learn, grow and heal.
