Marie Bashir Public School aspires to authentically integrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into school life and learning. Our school community strives to develop an understanding of the true histories of this nation and the past and ongoing impact to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through our reconciliation journey. We endeavour to instil confidence in our staff to grow respect, appreciation and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories into their classrooms. With support our students will graduate with a strong appreciation of the Land, histories, languages and cultural traditions of the Wangal People and all First Nations cultures across Australia.
