VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

MLC School stands on the Land of the Wangal People. We acknowledge, honour and recognise the Traditional Custodians of the Land; we acknowledge the need to foster equality and equity in addressing the injustices experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples since colonisation. We recognise the importance of learning from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples by embracing their voices and aspirations.

We aim to demonstrate the growth in our learning and understanding of the diverse cultures, histories, and languages of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples through visible strategies and meaningful actions. We commit to ensuring that our curriculum and policies authentically and comprehensively embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives.

We are committed to building long-term, transformational relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities both in our local area and other parts of Australia, inviting them into our school and spending time with them in their communities. Building these relationships will involve deep and ongoing conversations, consultations and collaborations.

MLC School is committed to being a culturally welcoming and safe school, where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and all peoples feel a sense of belonging.
