VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Cove Early Learning Centre, our vision for reconciliation is to create a culturally safe, inclusive and respectful early learning environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' histories, cultures, perspectives and ongoing connections to Country are valued and meaningfully embedded in everyday practice. We are committed to fostering genuine relationships built on trust, mutual respect and collaboration with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, recognising that reconciliation is an ongoing journey of listening, learning and reflection. We believe in the importance of all Australians and especially young children learning about and understanding the diverse histories and current realities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are committed to ensuring that the children in our care grow up in an environment that actively values First Nations histories, cultures and contributions as part of our national identity. We will challenge insensitive and biased attitudes, practices and behaviours, and ensure that current and future practices, policies and programs throughout Cove ELC are respectful of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, acknowledge current realities, and are proactive in supporting reconciliation.
