Our service is committed to building respectful relationships and embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in ways that are authentic, meaningful and ongoing. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first educators and recognise the importance of Country, culture and community in childrens learning. We respectfully embed First Nations perspectives through our daily programs and provide meaingful learning experiences that connect children, eductors, families and the wider community to Land, nature and community. These practices will support childrens, educators and the wider community's understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples ways of knowing, being and doing, and foster respect and belonging from an early age. We will build educator capability through ongoing professional learning, - and deepen partnerships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and Elders to ensure cultural authenticity and guidance. Weare committed to building our understanding of Awabakal culture and perspectives by embedding local language, stories and ways of knowing into everyday practice. Through intentional teaching, respectful relationships, and ongoing reflection, we aim to ensure our reconciliation journey is informed by local context and guided by the voices of the Awabakal community. Through reflection, collaboration and learning, we are committed to creating an environment where reconciliation is lived daily, and where children grow with respect, curiosity and a strong connection to Country and community.
