At Loving Start Healesville, we imagine a future where every child grows up with a deep respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, the First Custodians of this Land.
Our vision is to nurture a community where truth-telling, and relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures are meaningful and woven into everyday life.
We acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, whose stories, languages and traditions continue to shape this place.
We commit to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members to create a learning environment where everyone, including children can learn about what it means to feel connected to Country. Our learning environments will be a place where everyone including children, families and educators feel welcomed into shared learning, walking alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in our community with humility, curiosity and care.
Reconciliation for us means listening deeply to and learning continuously from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in our local community so we can and take meaningful action, big and small, that strengthens understanding, respect and belonging. Together, we strive to build a centre where diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and cultures are celebrated and embraced, where every child grows with a strong sense of identity.
