Our vision for reconciliation is nurturing a vibrant and connected community, that welcomes all its members and acknowledges and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories and cultures.
We envision a future where all children, families and educators learn, play and grow together in a community grounded in respect, understanding and has developed meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Reconciliation is about the proper recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and what they have contributed to both in the past and in the present.
Achieving reconciliation will require staff, families and the wider community to raise awareness and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples histories, cultures and changing attitudes and misunderstandings.
At our Centre we:
- Commit to respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout the curriculum, honouring their histories, voices and rights
- Will support and encourage educational opportunities to consult local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members, Elders and Traditional Custodians.
- Strive to foster belonging and creating cultural safety for all children and families
- Will equip all children with the knowledge and empathy needed to support a reconciled future
Our vision is to create a centre where reconciliation is reflected in our Philosophy, programs, environment, and relationships.
