VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Trikki Kidz Yarrawonga, we are committed to fostering a culturally safe, inclusive, and respectful environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, knowledge, and perspectives are valued, celebrated, and embedded within our everyday practices. We believe that all children, families, educators, and community members have the right to learn about and engage with the rich histories and living cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, the First Peoples of Australia. Through this understanding, we aim to nurture respect, empathy, and a shared responsibility for reconciliation. We acknowledge and respect the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we learn, play, and work, and recognise the enduring connections Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples have to Country, waterways, plants, animals, culture, and community. We are committed to demonstrating this respect through our actions, our learning environments, and our daily interactions. As educators, we recognise our responsibility to continuously deepen our cultural knowledge and understanding through ongoing learning, reflection, and professional development. We are committed to authentically embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout our curriculum and practices in ways that are meaningful, respectful, and informed by community voices. We value genuine partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities and seek to build and sustain relationships based on trust, collaboration, mutual respect, and shared learning. Through these relationships, we strive to contribute to reconciliation and create a future where all children feel a strong sense of belonging, identity, and connection.
