Our vision for reconciliation at Story House Early Learning Nunawading is for us to embrace unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians and promote a shared national culture that represents equality and equity, historical acceptance of our shared histories and removal of negative race relations. We aim to do this by strengthening the relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and authentically including First Nations’ perspectives, contributions, and cultures into the curriculum and daily practices. We are committed to ensuring we continue our own learning, un-learning and re-learning and work towards the ongoing vision of coming together as one. This will be prioritised as all individuals must have the same rights, access to resources, be recognised and feel culturally safe.
In Story House Early Learning Nunawading, reconciliation represents equal and equitable educational opportunities and outcomes for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders, and an inclusive and diverse workplace that is culturally responsive, rich and proud. We are committed to working in respectful ways with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, organisations and communities. We pay our respect to the true Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures, past, present and future to unfold. We commit to authentically introduce and enrich all children and educators with knowledge and understanding ofAboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and cultures.
