VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our Lady of Fatima Preschool and Long Day Care's vision is to cultivate a learning community of deep belonging, respect, and cultural safety for every child, family, and educator. We recognise the Dharawal People as the Traditional Custodians of this unceded Country, acknowledging their enduring spiritual connections, strength, and resilience. We commit to active truth-telling by recognising the ongoing impacts of colonization. We aim to ensure our educational practice actively amplifies First Nations voices and serves as an example of meaningful engagement for the wider Catholic school community.    Our commitment to reconciliation is realised through proactive engagement, driven by our Reconciliation Working Group. We are dedicated to building relationships with Dharawal Elders, knowledge holders, and local community organisations through ongoing consultation and collaborative learning. This commitment ensures we authentically embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples histories, cultures, and perspectives across all aspects of our educational programs and environments. By prioritising professional learning led by First Nations voices and moving beyond tokenism, we nurture a culture of respect, unity, and shared responsibility that is woven into our philosophy and practice every day.
