VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our team believes it is vital as educators to be active in the role of reconciliation through commitment to respectfully include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout our curriculum.

At Grandma Rosie’s Childcare Centre, we acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the Land on which we educate children each day. We value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ heritage represented within our Childcare Centre community and within the wider community, both locally and nationally.

We will continue to actively acknowledge the importance of working collaboratively with our families and educators to respectfully embed local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' perspectives into our daily routines and programs. We are committed to creating a nurturing environment where ideas can be shared among children and educators as we continue to connect with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. We will keep working to create a place where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities can connect with non-Indigenous Australians as we continue to build partnerships that are based around trust and respect and that are free of racism.

Our vision is a community where all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are actively recognised and respected as the Fist Nations peoples of Australia. We, as a service, are committed to ensuring we acknowledge, respect, support and celebrate the rich cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, including the local Dharawal community.
