VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Harmony East Brisbane, we continue our Reconciliation journey by deepening our commitment to Reconciliation through respect, learning and unity. Our vision is to extend on the foundations we have established, ensuring that Reconciliation is not a single step but an ongoing journey embedded within our daily practices, relationships, and community connections. We envision a future where the past is truthfully acknowledged, the present actively transformed, and the future shaped by shared respect and responsibility. We remain dedicated to recognising the diverse cultures, histories, and continuing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and to fostering collaborative partnerships that honour these perspectives.  Our vision is strengthened by three key commitments:  1. Mutual Respect and Understanding: We will continue to create spaces where every individual embraces the values of respect, equity, and cultural understanding. By acknowledging and valuing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, we deepen opportunities for meaningful dialogue, authentic relationships, and stronger social cohesion.  2. Cultural Celebration and Learning: We will extend on our cultural learning by embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, languages, and stories in ways that are respectful, authentic, and ongoing.  3. Collaborative partnerships: We will deepen our commitment to working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to create equitable and sustainable outcomes. By fostering partnerships and shared decision-making, we continue to build a future where Reconcilation is lived through action, not just words.  Through this vision, Harmony East Brisbane aspires to be a place where Reconciliation is visible, lived, and experienced every day - shaping not only our centre but strengthening our journey towards an Australia where First Nations voices, cultures, and contributions are deeply respected and celebrated.
