At Peachtree Kindergarten ELC Punchbowl, our vision for reconciliation is grounded in the Early Years Learning Framework and is guided by the principles of respect, equity and inclusion. We acknowledge and honour the unique place, cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and we are committed to ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive in a nation that values diverse ways of knowing, being and doing. As educators, we support children and families to build understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultural heritages and continuing contributions. We recognise the enduring strength, resilience and connection to Country of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and acknowledge the impact of past and ongoing injustices. Through intentional teaching and inclusive practices, we embed reconciliation into everyday learning, supporting childrens sense of being, belonging and becoming. We provide respectful learning experiences that promote identity, community connections and wellbeing, and enhance childrens knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. In doing so, we foster connectedness with First Nations peoples within our centre and the broader community, supporting children to grow as confident, involved and respectful learners.
