VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Rocket Early Learning Centre, our vision for reconciliation is grounded in our commitment to belonging, inclusion, respect and lifelong learning. We believe every child is unique, capable and deserving of a nurturing environment where identities are affirmed and respectful relationships guide our practice.   As a service we recognise the early years as a critical time for shaping childrens understanding of empathy, fairness and diversity. We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia and honour the enduring strength, knowledge and cultural heritage of the worlds oldest continuing cultures.  We are committed to providing a culturally safe and inclusive environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families and all children and families feel seen, respected and valued. We recognise our responsibility to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives and histories authentically and respectfully within our curriculum and daily practice.  In alignment with our philosophy, we view children as capable co-learners. Through play-based learning, meaningful conversations and engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives, we foster curiosity, respect for Traditional Custodians and Country and appreciation of the cultural diversity of First Nations peoples. We believe reconciliation is a shared responsibility involving children, families, educators and the wider community.  Guided by reflective practice, professional learning and genuine partnerships, we are committed to listening, learning and acting with integrity. For us, reconciliation is an ongoing journey that begins in the early years and contributes to a more equitable and respectful Australia.
