At Milestones Early Learning Cranbook, we acknowledge that reconciliation is not an easy or straight forward journey. We recognise that many injustices, racism and oppression occurred in the past and are still occurring today. We recognise that our actions today and moving forward do not erase the past and that our actions are just a small steppingstone to the journey towards reconciliation. We understand that it is integral to explore our own understandings, knowledge and biases.
In our service, reconciliation looks like Educators and Management committing to building our cultural capacity. It means listening to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. It means working to create a culturally safe environment. It means working on, and being aware of, our own biases. It means being inclusive. It means acknowledging our privilege. It means sharing what we know. It means working on our own knowledge.
Our vision for Milestones Early Learning Cranbrook is to be inclusive of all reconciliation actions within the centre. To actively work on our centres RAP through collaboration, team groupings and programs will give us the opportunity to guide the young minds of tomorrow.
