Our vision for reconciliation at Nido Early School Avondale Heights is to respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, histories, and perspectives. Our goal is for staff to work together with the local First Nations communities to deepen our understanding of and create an awareness about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s lives and experiences. We will respectfully include this understanding and awareness in daily activities in consultation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We aim to have a future where everyone respects and acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, languages and histories by embedding respect, awareness, and including First Nation peoples’ perspectives in our everyday practice. Our vision is to ensure that all children, Educators, and the wider community are provided opportunities to an environment that is not only inclusive, but one that provides knowledge and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories and cultures.
