At Carlingford Montessori Academy, we have a vision to support and provide opportunities for learning, unlearning, and relearning for our, educators, children, families and other stakeholders to recognise and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders peoples as the Traditional Owners of the Lands across this place we now call Australia. We are committed to ensuring our community understands and takes the responsibility to foster an inclusive and culturally safe environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, by valuing diversity within our service. Our Reconciliation Action Plan’s vision is based in our core elements of truth, justice, forgiveness, healing, and love which will provide practical strategies to build and renew a nation that embraces unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and all Australians, so that we can learn from each other as we work together in an equal and equitable nation. We acknowledge that the RAP is a continual process and that we will add to it and grow individually, as a team and as an organisation. Our commitment mirrors our values of respect for diversity, inclusion, advocating the rights of children, justice, honesty, and courage. Our goal is to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives within our programs in a respectful and deep manner, to create the sense of being, belonging and becoming for everyone in our service.
