Our vision for reconciliation at Queanbeyan Montessori Academy is to enlighten and further educate ourselves, our families, children and educators within the centre about the importance of celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and perspectives. This will provide educators, families and children with the opportunity to develop a sense of understanding, and connection to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. We aim to strengthen our ability to teach about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander's perspectives in a respectful manner. Our goal is to steer away from tokenistic ideas and methods, and to respectfully and meaningfully bring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families within our centre whilst we strive to create an inclusive environment for all. This RAP will also be attached to and implemented alongside the weekly planning to form part of our Quality Improvement Plan.
