At Keiki Catalina our vision for reconciliation is togetherness. Fostering a future of healing and reconciliation requires us all to truthfully and respectfully acknowledge the past. It is only through understanding and acknowledging the wrongs of the past that we are adequately equipped to make proactive amends for the injustices continuing to be faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples since colonisation. By embracing our community of teachers, children, families, and the wider community, we will come together to foster an equal and equitable future for both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people. We commit to respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples histories and cultures across our teaching and learning. We continue to create a sense of belonging and culturally safe learning environments through respectfully including First Nations peoples cultures, perspectives, and histories. Learning from Traditional Custodians, teaching on Whadjuk Noorgar Land and paying respects to Elders past and present will help build a future of inclusion and togetherness. We are proud of the ongoing achievements on our reconciliation journey and the great connections that we are building with the local First Nations community.
