At Headstart Early Learning Centre, our vision for reconciliation is grounded in respect, inclusion, and a deep commitment to learning from and with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we learn and play, and we honour their enduring connections to Country, culture, and community.
We believe that reconciliation begins in early childhood. Through meaningful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people, shared stories, and everyday practices, we nurture generations of children who respect and value the diversity of First Nations peoples and cultures, and understand the importance of equity and justice.
Our centre is committed to embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives in our curriculum in authentic and respectful ways. We strive to create a culturally safe and inclusive environment where all children, families, and educators feel a sense of belonging and pride in their identity.
Guided by curiosity and respect, we will continue to listen, learn, and grow alongside First Nations communities. Our vision is to contribute to a future where reconciliation is lived, not just spoken where understanding, respect, and unity are part of everyones journey. Together, we walk forward with open hearts and minds, building strong foundations for a more just, connected and reconciled Australia.
We are committed to walking gently and respectfully on this land, learning from its stories, and honouring the cultures, knowledge, and traditions that have been shared for tens of thousands of years. At our centre, we strive to create a space where children learn to listen, care, and respect the land and each other, building a future grounded in understanding, appreciation, and reconciliation.
