VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Story House Early Learning Putney acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of Lands across Australia. We pay our respect to the Wallumedegal People on whose Land we learn and play.

We strive to ensure that we continue to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in all that we do. We acknowledge that it is a child’s right to learn about the Wallumedegal people and Land, and Australia's true histories and the continuing contributions of the Wallumedegal people.

We are committed to building respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within our community to break down barriers and move forward together. As early childhood educators, we understand that 'from little things big things grow’ and that a child's learning journey and our shared reconciliation journey begins here.

Our vision is a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are actively recognised as the First People of Australia; where all Australians embrace Elders past, present and future for the wisdom and knowledge they hold and share; and where emerging leaders in local communities are supported.
