Goodstart Perth Kaadidjiny Maya's vision for reconciliation is a culturally safe and nurturing environment with a shared respect and knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories, cultures, and continuing contributions. We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as being the First Peoples of Australia. As we learn, grow, and walk together in reconciliation, we are committed to creating a strong and connected future for all children and families at Goodstart PKM.
We will continue to respectfully incorporate and embed First Nation peoples’ perspectives into our service’s curriculums, routines and rituals. We will do this by maintaining collaborative partnerships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community that is built on mutual respect, trust, and inclusiveness. These partnerships will help to create meaningful opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous educators, children and community members.
In support of a sustainable and meaningful reconciliation, Goodstart Perth Kaadidjiny Maya remains committed to providing opportunities to increase staff and community awareness of the longstanding and continuing contributions of First Nations people.
We hope that, through reconciliation, the knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories and cultures will become a shared language with our educators, children and families and the broader community.
