At Nido Early School Hammond Park, reconciliation is about creating unity and strengthening relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and non-Indigenous people.
We, as a whole-service team, aim to continuously develop our understanding of reconciliation and our place in the movement. We aim to reflect, innovate, stretch and elevate our journey of reconciliation through our RAP. We acknowledge, value, and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' cultures, histories, and heritages while also acknowledging the injustices of the past and the ongoing impacts into the present and work towards a more just future.
We will continue to respectfully incorporate and embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our curriculum, routines and rituals. We hope to continue to build knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and build reciprocal relationships with the local community.
The children and educators at Nido Hammond Park, thank the local Whadjuk People for the Land on which we learn and play, and we promise to care about it every single day.
