The Village ELC’s vision for reconciliation is to play our part in educating our children, educators and families to strive for an Australia that embraces unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians; a country and shared national identity that represents equality and equity, removal of negative race relations and acceptance of our shared history. For us, reconciliation means working in a meaningful and respectful way with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and community with the aim of building a healthy, inclusive and sustainable community where all members acknowledge and continue to learn about, embrace and respect the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, perspectives and cultures through continued reflection, learning, unlearning and relearning.
