Our vision for reconciliation at Story House is to respectfully acknowledge and embrace the diverse cultures, perspectives, knowledge, and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within our community.
We strive for a future where all Australians acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples enduring contributions, and where every person is treated with dignity, respect, and fairness.
Within our centre, this vision means fostering learning environments that promote equity and equality for all children, educators, families, and stakeholders. We will foster learning opportunities and outcomes for all children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, building an inclusive workplace that is culturally safe, culturally responsive, and proud.
As educators and active community members, we are committed to supporting all families and the local community to join us on our reconciliation journey working towards a future that respectfully celebrates the diverse cultural heritages, perspectives, cultures and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We acknowledge that reconciliation is an ongoing, evolving process. As a team and an organisation, we will continue to grow, learn, and strengthen our Reconciliation Action Plan.
In support of this commitment, we will build meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families. We are dedicated to seeking opportunities that deepen staff and community understanding of the longstanding and continuing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
