Our vision for reconciliation is walking and talking together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to create a respectful and reconciled community that is inclusive and built upon a shared understanding of Australia's First Peoples’ histories and cultures.
At a local level, our service is reflecting this national dialogue through respectful conversations with educators, families, the wider community and the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, about how reconciliation can be achieved in our service community, particularly within our sphere of influence on children and their families.
Reconciliation requires courage, a commitment to open dialogue and action through respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives throughout our childcare. We know that respect and recognition is key to building strong working relationships between our service and the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
