VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is to be a service that, together with staff, families, children and wider community, shares a deep understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives and histories and a shared vision for respect, acknowledgement and inclusion.   Woodstock Early Learning embeds reconciliation across all aspects of the educational program by meaningfully incorporating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into daily practices, fostering genuine partnerships with community, supporting ongoing educator cultural competence, and creating inclusive learning environments that promote respect, understanding, and connection. We encourage children, educators, and families to develop respect, empathy, inclusion, and an appreciation of Australias shared histories, cultures, and diverse communities. Through intentional teaching and everyday practices, children, educators and families are encouraged to develop respect for the land, people, plants, waterways, and animals, promoting a sense of responsibility, care, and connection to the environment and community. We aim to ensure that a clear and effective pathway to reconciliation is established through our Reconciliation Action Plan so that together we can establish a clear path to close the gap in educational and wellbeing outcomes between First Nations peoples and the broader Australian community.
