Our vision for reconciliation at Peak Sports and Learning Gerringong is founded on deepening our relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, community, and educators. Through our roles as educators, we will ensure to provide opportunities for children to deepen their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, equality, and acceptance of the First Nation Australians. We will work alongside and learn from our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community by building positive, ongoing, and respectful partnerships. We will also ensure our educators continue to learn, unlearn and relearn to then implement, where appropriate, First Nations histories, cultures and perspectives in the service. We pride ourselves on our cultural program as we ourselves continue to learn and grow lead by local community, who we continue to build and maintain relationships with. We believe with understanding comes respect and that this is integral in relation to reconciliation. We will strive to provide opportunities for the Traditional Custodians to connect with our service community as we promote cultural responsiveness not only for our service but for us as individuals. Building these foundational relationships ensures we can embed respectful and meaningful perspectives into our daily practises.
