Lullaby's vision for Reconciliation is a future where all Australians value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders, peoples and communities, cultures, wisdom and knowledge they hold. We acknowledge the continuous custodianship of the Land, Water and Stories by First Nations peoples. We aspire to teach the true history of our nation so our children and families leave our early learning service with meaningful knowledge and respect for First Nation peoples and cultures. We believe the cohesive representation of both, Indigenous and non-Indigenous cultures within our curriculum to be part of the key that can unlock our future to a more reconciled country we all call home.
We respectfull include the cultures of the Yugambeh people where Lullaby Early Learning stands as part of our routine program, both in the form of daily involvement and the celebration of events throughout the year. Our centre encourages and values family involvelment, and out RAP journey will function as an opportunity to inject knowledge and understanding of reconciliation and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' cultures, histories and contributions into the Lullaby Early Learning community. We continue to develop ways to introduce the concept of reconciliation that are age appropriate in educating the children and in turn their families. A shared understanding about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and histories is key to reconciliation and supporting the development of this knowledge for the kids is key. To continue our path of reconciliation, it is vital to our centre that we introduce the routines and rituals of the First Nations peoples of Australia alongside our own to encourage the celebration of these practices. Within these practices, accurate representation and respectful inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures is equally intergral.
