Our vision for reconciliation is creating a culturally safe space in which the perspectives, histories and continuing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are respectfully woven into our curriculum, our physical environments, and our everyday practices at grass roots level in cultural practice.
We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded and that we are implementing our Reconciliation Action Plan on Gadigal Land, the Land of the Gai-Mariagal (NB) and the Kai K May (Manly) people.
We acknowledge the importance of the continuation of cultural, spiritual and educational practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and the role that our reconciliation journey plays in supporting this. Thus, we will continue to support our team to develop a deeper understanding of the true histories and the intergenerational trauma that has occurred on the Land on which Little Lane Manly (LLM) has been built through providing opportunities for Educators, children and the wider community to deepen their understandings.
At Little Lane Manly we will create a culturally safe environment, where everybody is included and able to work in collaboration with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and the wider community.
We are committed to learning more about the actions that we can take within our service to ensure that our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and practices comes from a place of inclusion and respect, and that we are continually challenging ourselves to promote cultural competency in a way that is tangible.
