Goodstart Early Learning Hughesdale has a vision for reconciliation which is a future of mutually respectful relationships between our broader community and the Wurundjeri People. We recognise that early childhood education is a pathway to a reconciled nation. As an early learning centre, we strive for all First Nations children to participate in quality early childhood education. Furthermore, we will continue to work with the children in our service to value the ongoing contributions of the Wurundjeri peoples and First Nations peoples throughout Australia. We recognise that First Nations poeples’ cultures and heritage shapes our shared cultural heritage as Australians. As part of our commitment to reconciliation, we regret the loss of family, cultural identity, lands and waterways, languages, and communities experienced by many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. At the same time, we acknowledge that reconciliation is about moving beyond regret to respectful action and building up a reconciled Australia where all children and families have opportunities to contribute and succeed.
