Our vision for reconciliation is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to be recognised as the First Peoples of this nation. We endeavor to work with children, families, and the local community to make this a reality throughout our organisation and the services that we provide. We acknowledge their continued resilience since colonisation, and work to restore equality and equity.
Little Green House Child Care is contributing to a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, children and families feel a sense of belonging. We strive to provide a culturally safe and respectful environment where all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children can participate in quality early childhood education.
Over the years our reconciliation journey has developed through staff knowledge and contributions and overall understanding of First Nations people and their cultures. We recognise the importance of reconciliation and aim to work towards our RAP goals and achieve our services vision for reconciliation.
We acknowledge that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples voices need to be heard, and we will adopt practices of continued consultation and reflection.
We are committed to shifting from positions of racism, regret, tokenism and ignorance and make the significant changes needed to actively work towards reconciliation for our centre and the wider community.
