Here at Avenues Aspley, we share a vision of empowering the Educators within our centre to work together on the journey of reconciliation. We acknowledge the importance of having a Reconciliation Action Plan in place and working together as a team to increase our knowledge and improve our relationships with the First Nations peoples within our community. As we continue to work towards the ongoing goals we have set, we continue to teach and share our journey about reconciliation with the younger generations within our care. This impacts the way children think and act, ensuring the future is inclusive, and everyone has equal and equitable opportunities. We continue to provide an educational environment where all members of our community feel safe and supported within our service as we build our understanding of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories and cultures. We are supporting our Early Learning Centre to consistently work towards growth and cultural responsiveness, which will allow our organistaion to practice reconciliation through our policies, procedures and actions. Connecting with local Elders and community continues to help us understand and celebrate the uniqueness and diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples both locally and across Australia.
