At Mandalay Early Learning Centre, our vision for reconciliation is about unity and respect between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians. We believe in strengthening partnerships and supporting collaboration when actively acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which our Centre stands. We respect the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung heritage and value equity for all Australians.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) represents our commitment to becoming an organisation where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and children feel supported, respected and united. In alignment with our RAP commitments, Mandalay is committed to providing culturally inclusive practices and the development of respectful relationships with community members. We will provide an environment that celebrates the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and respectfully embeds diverse cultures into our everyday practices.
Mandalay recognises the diversity and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. We are committed to seeing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples recognised in state and federal constitutions. Reconciliation is an ongoing process; a process that acknowledges the past, understands the present, and continues to embrace the future based on the co-existence of shared and unique rights.
Mandalay is committed to providing quality education and care for all children and families, and we recognise and respect our educators, our children and our families who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. We will continue to ensure our curriculum actively recognises and understands the unique needs, interests, and perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, children and their families.
