VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Little Lane is committed to creating a community of reconciliation, with shared respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Our vision is to actively: 

·         Recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures, andtheir diverse and dynamic nature

·         Acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ deep connections with, and custodianship of, the Land since time immemorial

·         Value the contributions of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples  to Australian culture and society

·         Honour the resilience and strength and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures

·         Value opportunities to learn from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and perspectives

 It is our goal to ensure that all Little Lane educators, families and children  develop awareness and understanding of the longstanding and continuing significance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and contributions.

We commit to developing a service culture that welcomes Aboriginal and Torres Strait families and supports First Nations staff, children and families to feel safe and secure with in the Little Lane community

We will ensure that the Little Lane Community, staff and volunteers actively participate in reconciliation through our policies, processes and actions, and will respectfully embed an appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, pedagogies and perspectives

throughout our learning programs and projects in all rooms.
