Reconciliation at Guardian Springfield means to sensitively restore and make amends as well as strengthening our relationships between the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the non-indigenous people. As a team we appreciate that reconciliation is an ongoing journey where we must actively work towards meaningful change and that it is much more than merely celebrating multiculturalism. It is extremely important we reflect and acknowledge not just as a service but a country. We believe the change starts with each and every single one of us sharing a common goal and being committed to achieving this, In order to deepen our knowledge and authenticity of practice, we commit to our Reconciliation Action Plan and engaging with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within our community. We are committed to engaging and further expanding our knowledge with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, specifically the Yuggera people of the Land on which our service resides on. Through this reconciliation action plan Guardian Springfield hopes to be more involved with the Traditional Owners of the Land, building respectful relationships between local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members and out wider community.
