Only About Children Newport is committed to reconciliation. Through this vision, we seek to influence and educate current and future generations about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their cultures, and perspectives.  

Our vision is a future of mutually respectful and genuine two-way relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people within the community. We visualise a fair, inclusive, impartial, and culturally respectful community that stands for First Nation peoples' recognition, participation, equity, and acknowledgment as essential to Australia’s national identity. 

We foster de-colonisation by respectfully including First Nations perspectives in our planning across all age-groups.  We continue to provide opportunities for staff to develop their cultural awareness and responsiveness through professional learning and partnerships with local Elders, First Nations leaders and community members.
