In our preschool community we embrace relationships and respect as the overarching values of our philosophy. At Wallaroo Preschool our vision for reconciliation includes active recognition of the histories, cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We provide the opportunity for children, educators and families to embrace First Nations cultures with kindness and respect as we grow unity between First Nations peoples and non-Indigenous Australians. Educators regularly reflect and build on their cultural responsiveness to strengthen and extend their understanding of, and relationships with, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. By respectfully engaging with Elders, leaders, educators and Traditional Custodians, our preschool community will continue to build respectful relationships based on trust.
